 My name's Cole, I'm a mom of 2 from rural eastern Kentucky. I was raised as a Christian, was saved, baptised... the whole 9. During my stint with infertility and recurrent miscarriages I started to question faith and begin scrutinizing religion. I eventually came to a place where I felt comfortable admitting to myself that I no longer believed in any deities.

Unfortunately,it's not exactly "safe" to proclaim atheism where my husband and I live (there's more churches than people around here!). I'm look forward to being involved in the company of like minded individuals for a change. :)

Welcome, Cole.

I also live in the bible belt, but am fortunate to live in the big city, where admitting to being an atheist doesn't get you immediately lynched.

Is your husband an atheist also?

Santa uses it to bring all the coal to put in the stockings of all the bad girls and boys.

It is also a famous music and dance show for white people who dress up like black people, rub coal on their faces, and shake their honky asses like they have the music in them! Yousa! The Coletrain!

My guess is that it's a play on the surname Coltrane. Am I right, Coletrain?

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Heh, I asked that very question of her in a post on another thread. You a Coltrane fan, Irr? He's really good, but kind of puts me to sleep, sometimes. That's the kind of stuff to get laid in front of the fireplace, with, though.

I'm more of a Coleman Hawkins fan, but John Coltrane is cool, too.

Edited: Hey, she coulda been Coleman Coletrain. How cool would that have been?

Oh, and getting laid in front of the fireplace while listening to Coltrane, very saxy, Ratty.:)

Who knew my name would be what strikes conversation. Ha!

Actually, none of the above. My real name is Cole, and Coletrain is a nickname that my mom gave me that alot of friends picked up and ran with it. I can almost always guarantee it to be a free screenname when signing up for a website.

Lost me on the Harry Potter reference  I'll confess that I've not so much as picked up those books, much less read them.

Ask me about vampires, though

Welcome. I know what it's like to fear your fellow citizens. You just have to be very careful what you say and where you say it.

So much for "free speech", eh?

now what was that pesky quote?....Oh yeah..

" Freedom isn't free..." or something like that...

You know I have more respect for folks like you (Philochs, Cole, AJF) who reside deep, deep in cloud cukoo land--me I have some problems in ultra-liberal Ontario--I can't imagine trying to maintain where y'all are--I would pop a vein.
