It has been suggested that this forum is about education. If so then you and anyone else who reads this topic can use the word berk newly freed from their previous ignorance.
Whether I am a berk or not is not for me to judge but I am perfectly prepared to give J&W, & anyone else who uses the word, the benefit of the doubt when judging their awareness of the connotation. Regardless of this I am convinced the scriptwriters would have known it's meaning.
