Hi , I found this forum after reading up on religious beliefs and after a short read of some threads, decided it looks like fun and I'd like to take part.
about me.. I'm male , 35 years old and living in Lancashire UK.
I've always been an atheist. My memories of school when I was about 6 years old are of me listening to some religious mumbo jumbo and thinking "Do they expect me to believe this shit?"
anyway, if you want to know more feel free to ask.
I swear, we need to call exterminators soon, there's a nest of Brits here somewhere. ;)
Welcome, WickFut, hope you enjoy it here.
welcome to our humble forum, wick!

Well, the UK has a population of ~ 60 million while the US has ~ 300 million (roughly). However, if 80% (say) of Americans are religious then you've only got 60 million atheists. I doubt if more than 50% of Brits are theists so a ratio of about 2:1 would seem reasonable, UNLESS one of the main reasons for coming here is to seek relief from the world of Jeebusites. Then you'd expect to see only Americans (and that's not including other countries where they might not speak English. I don't know about Canadia and the land down under.) From the relative populations I conclude that brits come here for a laugh and merkins come here for some god free time, and don't mind also having a laugh (with the exception of some dried up old crones and a couple of brain dead mouth breathing dickwads).

Spoonerisms will also, I predict, become a problem for Brad Pitt's son Shiloh.

A regular contrubutor to the BBC's lunchtime current affairs prog (via Jeremy Vine) was a Mr Hucker.
He was quickly dropped when his first name was declared as Rudolph!!
Sod all to do with spoonerisms - but chortleworthy non the less

Well, I didn't see the need to start another thread just to introduce myself, so allow me to piggyback this one.
I go by Redhunter, as in, "Shhhh! Be vewy, vewy quiet...I'm hunting wedheads..." Redhair is my fetish, and if I worshipped anything, it would be that glorious colour...
I'm male, straight and currently going through my first divorce. I live in Fargo North Dakota, and yes, it's that fucking cold here. I was raised Luthern and went to church since I was old enough to see. Over that past ten or so years I began my deconversion, and by the time I found some atheist websites I realized that I was not the only one. It feels like it when you grow up in the upper midwest--it's better than the upper mideast, I suppose, but the fundieism is just as bad.
So basically I've become anti-religious, but I don't try to decovert folks, only to ask them questions; questions nobody asked me when I needed them to. Some questions one has to answer, if only to oneself. I believe in giving people the information and allowing them to change or deepen their own rut as they see fit. For the most part, if someone has religion, I don't give a rat's ass. If they start to tell me "how it is", or how happy they are that they "found jesus" I will "preach" it right back to them. I am fairly well versed in the bible, and I have read the bulk of it. I know the stories, the prophecies and a lot of things that the average christian doesn't know about their own book and its history. So I do love a good religious debate.
Anyway, I stumbled upon your site by googling carico's quote from 'Fundies Say The Darndest Things' where I've been a regular for years, and I found the name she uses here; knufper or whatever it is. The writing "style" was unmistakeable so I decided to join to badger her a bit.
But this seems like a cool place, I look forward to meeting you all and having intelligent discourse with you.
Feel free to call me 'Red' for short, most others do.

Nice. Carico was banned here as you probably know, and her altered-ego Knupfer ain't long for this world either I'm afraid.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. She's been allowed at the FSTDT site because some of us don't have anything better to do then to rip on her. SHe is legendary to the newer members who thought her some sort of myth, or legend invented jsut to scare kids! They changed their minds soon enough. I believe I called her a "sucking vortex of stupidity" today.
I mean, how lonely and pathetic of a life does she have? And she has single-handedly deconverted a couple people over there. So she is in the red on souls now.
so, carico is kupfucker?
who would have thunk...
oh well. we have fun with him too...

Just to annoy Philboid - I undertake not to ban the knutsack - unless forced to by overwhelming opinion from the ranks.

Thanks all for the nice welcome!
Rhinoqulous: You familiar with Fargo? Student perhaps?
I don't hit the bars too often, but I like to hang at Rick's. Sometimes the Bismarck on Broadway. But that's mostly because I have friends who work the night shift as well (i get done at 8am), and that's where they frequently park. Also, the drinks at both places are pure booze with a hint of soda for color. I shit you not, a rum and coke at Rick's has so much booze it it you can still easily see through the glass.
Luckily I'm within stumbling distance of home...:bird:

Not a student, I've lived up here for years.
I'm familiar with the drinks at Rick's and the Biz (as well as at the E, whiskey cokes just shouldn't be transparent). Fun times, fun times.

Cool! The only internet person I've met online who actually lives around here is knutfer! Ugh...
I was at Rick's this morning meeting a friend for drinks. Two over the course of an hour or so is as close to drunk as I allow myself. Gotta pace 'em!
