The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
by Carl Sagan
has an excellent bit or three
....
Not atheism books but Edward de Bono's
New Thinking for the New Millenium
and
Simplicity
are stimulating (brain-exciting!)
They are nibble-books! :D
No chapters, just little tasty nibbles! :D
(Excellent for reading one minute here, one minute there, and for "turning on" the brain)
...
I've just listened to Tony Benn's Diaries 2001-2007 on my mp3.
Lots of Blair-Bashing!
...
What do you want to read/discover?
Hello and welcome - tell us a bit about you?
Yes, are you tasty?

I grew up in the bible belt and was forced to attend church as a child. The whole system seemed like a hypocritical sham to me, so I looked for the nearest door as soon as possible. When logic is applied to the church, the roof comes crashing down on the pulpit. It does feel a little strange (for a lack of a better word at the moment) to consider myself an atheist. My mom, brother, and sister are devout Christians. The subject will never be brought up I'm sure, because they are good people, just a little mis-guided. There are much better topics of discussion to be brought up when I visit them. It's good to know there are forums on the net to discuss my views with other bright, logically minded people.
Most of my views are conservative, but seem to be shifting left yearly. This is common the older you get? (I'm 35) After reading Freakonomics, my view on abortion is firmly pro-choice. I'm hoping for the day the White House is not occupied by a bible thumping freak. Politics and religion do not mix, and should not be mixed. I think it's a shame more people cannot think for themselves.
