My name is Jake, and I'm from a tiny town in SW Minnesota. I was raised MS Lutheran, and had doubts about it from a pretty young age. I swallowed them for years, until I was supposed to be the student speaker for my confirmation class. I told my pastor and family that I wasn't going to stand up in front of hundreds of people and lie about what I believed. Maybe I should have. Then I would've gotten a car, a stereo, thousands of dollars in gifts, and not been expelled from (most of) my family. Gotta love that Christian compassion. Throw a 15 year-old out on the streets for thinking and being honest. At least I wasn't stoned to death. I was agnostic for years, until I read a few "athiest books" that posted fully formed ideas that I've had knocking around in my head half-formed since childhood. So there you go. Another athiest and anti-theist has been recruited.
