I believe in God and His Messiah. I don't like mainstream christianity because it has been heavily influenced by paganism. I am a sabbatarian. I have a lot of fun picking at atheists but I don't get ugly and filthy offensive like some do. I know there's some real flak shooters on these forums but it doesn't bother me. I am, by Hillary's definition, a right wing conspirator.

Hello. I had to look up "sabbatarian" and it says "Both those who observe a seventh-day Sabbath, and those who adhere to a Puritan Lord's-Day Sabbath, have laid claim to the name Sabbatarians; the term is less frequent for those who hold a different rest day." but that doesn't really tell me much. I take it since you're not into the pagan-influenced parts of Christianity that you don't practice those parts, but how much does that leave?

I am sorry about your neurological affliction, but hey some people can't live without an addiction either be smoking or neurological. Welcome to the forum and be prepared for the naked truth, since we observe the dictum that extraordinary claims required extraordinary evidence. :)

Apostolic christianity was a sect of Judaism in it's original form. They believed in Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah and honored the Torah as the core of their scriptures. Sabbatarian in my case is observance of the seventh day (bible)sabbath.

Formal hi's from me Pab.
Whats Sabbaratian then. I'm unfamiliar with it?
Anything other than keeping the sabbath? You into leviticus's commands to stone the sabbath breaker?

Be real? Thank you for the advice. Thank your imaginary friend as well, next time you mumble to him.

What's up Pablo.
Do you have any evidence for this god of yours? And the messiah? Who are they, what do they do, etc, etc? If your only source of knowledge of christianity is the numerous Bible translations, and you claim these are tainted by paganism, how do you know what the untainted, original christian doctrine is like?
I am genuinely interested. Please reply!

A sabbatarian is a person that keeps the bible sabbath (seventh day) instead of the Roman replacement (first day).
:rolleyes:First of all, the death penalty used for sabbath breakers and other grievous sins of Torah was not a vigilante type justice as many people believe. A court of law decided the sentence. If this court existed today in the US or Israel, the Sanhedrin, and had civil jurisdiction, an accused (non-heathen) sabbath breaker would really need a good lawyer. Of course, intent to purposely break the sabbath would have to be proven before execution would be carried out. Two witnesses would be required. No, I'm not into stoning for the obvious reasons.
I know it seems barbaric to stone someone for breaking the sabbath, it does to me. We, as believers, tend to hold the sabbath in much lower esteem than God does. Apparently, the sabbath is a much bigger deal to God than it is to us. It is the most mentioned positive commandment in the bible.

So let me get this correct.
You keep the Sabbath Holy because your frightened of Gods laws and want to keep gods laws.
Gods law is not to do work on the sabbath and to kill those that do.
You think this was justified in the old days by a court and if we were doing gods will, it would be today. Unless we can just scrap Gods holy word as pointless barbarism.
You accept Gods word is barbaric and simply worship his imaginaryness out of sheer terror.
I am very very sorry for you. Such a waste of a life. :(

Hey, great post and fully expected. You are a master of typical atheist replies and a credit to your peers.
I keep the sabbath because I love my saviour, no other reason.
God hates sin, God punishes for sin. If you can't deal with that, it's your problem, not mine.
You've already scrapped God's word in your mind as unjustified thereby setting yourself up as superior to God. I think maybe you should be sorrowful for yourself. I suspect that you have a "god" of your own and his name is SELF.
I never said I accepted God's Word as barbaric. I said it seemed that way.
I worship my God only because I love him, no other reason.
Bring it on!

Dude, you expect to be insulted at an atheist Website, yet you stick around, anyway?
Why would you do that? On purpose? What is there for you to gain by purposely putting your feelings and beliefs in harm's way?
You're welcome to them, but you already know you have no credibility here where your beliefs are concerned, right? What's the point?
I'm earnestly curious.

Finally, a theist who can describe, for once and for all, just what the fuck god really is!
Please, P bee, give us a meaningful description of god.
(I am assuming here that you would not love that which you could not comprehend.)

Bring it on! OK, so you worship a God that on the surface appears to be a sadistic controling, self righteous douche, but you're giving him a free pass and worship him anyway? Cause (and I'm guessing on this part) this apparent douche-baggary is actually just really really mysterious, and doesn't actually count as douche-baggery at all? Am I in the ballpark?
And just for the record, this concept of God you worship is, in fact, beneath me-- limited and flawed though I may be. Actually, this concept of God you worship is beneath every single person I know. This is not to say that the people I associate with (most of whom are Christian outside of this forum) or I are spectacular beacons of superiority. Rather, the thing you worship is simply downright pathetic, intollerant and cruel.

If you love it then why do you not keep its word? she has given clear laws, one of which is to keep the sabbath holy. You keep this because you love her. What about the others. Why the dickens are you not out there stoning the people down at Blockbusters Video store this very evening. It's totally unambiguous. You love your Lord, you keep his laws.
Do you think he is unaware of what ye do? That his eyes are not watching you and your transgressions. He knows that you have met the abomination that is Homosexuals, and he saw ye left them unstoned. He has taken note and has prepared a place in torment for ye. He saw you ignore the child insulting its own mother and yet you turned aside from his very word. His holy commands. This will be a black mark upon ye on the day of reckoning.
Nay, ye do not loveth him who's words you spurn. Last week ye sat on a chair that had been sittethethed upon by a women in her menses and ye DID NOT WASH your clothing.
Beware, for he will not be mocked by those claiming to loveth him and who spurn his direct wurd.
Take heed of the example of the prophet Elisha. He did not fucketh about at the mocking children, he got Jesus to tear off their heads with bears. Woe I say and woe and, just for fun, woe again.A dire place awaits the transgressor.
