I'm sure this is old news for most of you. I wasn't to me--

Last night, a doco (part1) about the Dover County School Board's (Penn.) attempt to have Intelligent Design taught as science.

The programme re enacts parts of the actual trial, from transcripts. I was stunned, not only at the duplicity and bloody minded ignorance of the fundies, but at my own ignorance.

EG I was not aware of the depth of evidence there is on transitional species or that genetics reinforces Darwin's findings. It was explained how DNA verifies Darwin, examining the [apparent] difference of one chromosomes between apes and humans. There is no difference; humans have two chromosomes which became fused into one.

I apologise if I've explained this poorly, I don't have a science background.

The show was was on a Public channel, SBS. Not sure if it's available for download outside of Australia.

The judgment is really worth reading in my opinion.

 The show or one very much like it from your description, was carried on our public broadcasting by NOVA.

You are quite right that the actual judgment is a good read.
