No bibles in hospitals (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=350903&in_page_id=1770) Finally someone's standing up to those ubiquitous crusaders the dreaded gideons! Also I find it quite poetically just that they should support such a ban with the argument that it can spread disease (MRSA)

I think they should be forced to have the religious text for every religion...ever.

Either that or none at all - I mean you'd need a bloody library if you were to have every main religious text ever written for all religions...ever. Why can't the patient bring one with them or request one if they want. Why has the blibel always been placed there by "gideons?"

Oh i agree. My idea was that
A) They actually find all the books and i laugh my ass off at the waste of paper.
B) They would give up and take them all out.
Probably in my opinion best thing to do is a have a library full of all modern day religious texts... and if the patient requests one they can have it. If someones dying and it makes them feel better to have their bible by their side...who are we to say...no!

Even if it's false comfort, why would you advocate banning Bibles from sickbeds? That's book-burning mentality.

I don't think it's necessary to ban the bible more than any other book from a hospital, but it shouldn't be forced on people. Have a few copies at the front desk with the extra supplies like toilet paper and whatnot, and if a patient or a visitor asks for one, supply one.
