I went over to Hannity.com to try and convince these people that there is no God and we should find immortality right here right now, and I was suprised by how many Atheist were doing the same thing. here is a discussion in which I feel I killed every arguement these religious people could throw at me. If you want to read the whole post here is the link http://www.hannity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8632 Tell me what you think about how I handled these Theist. I murdered them with logic

Every time I argue with people that There is no after-life or a God they always tell me I gotta have 'faith' or in other words that even though we have not a single solitary shred of evidence for his excistence and we can't see him, hear him, smell him, taste him, feel him, we also can't detect him with x-rays, MRI's, infrared, nightvision, sonar, that I should still have 'faith'.
God, is totaly unditectable. It's a very ILLOGICAL thing to ask me to do, to believe in what is clearly not real. I mean if we're going to believe in things that are totaly undetectable why not then belive in sata clause or the tooth fairy? So any arguements made against cloning or stem cells whose foundation is this ILLOGICAL 'faith' is by default going to be a totaly useless arguement.
Heaven is a 'mental death trap' by promesing people an iternal after-life it takes away our fear of death and the nessecity we should have towards finding a way to make our selves immortal. Instead of worrying about what happens when we die we should be supporting research that keeps us alive and healthy. I believe when medecine gets to the point where we can cure all deases, including the desease known as aging, science will the be able to offer to people what religion has only lied about for years... IMMORTALITY, real immortality right here in the real world.
There is a emmerging field of chemistry called "Nanotechnology" (google it you'll see) which is the science of building things atom by atom. Thans right instead of growing an apple we build one, atom by atom, instead of having clogged arteries we inject nanomachines into our blood stream to scrape away the cholesterol, instead of a heart tranplant we simply build you a new one.
This technology along with genetics, cloning and ebryonic stem cell will give us ture immoratality. And no matter how hard you try you can't stop it, just yesterday the house passed the Castle Degett bill that will allow for federal funding of embryonic stem cell research, last week in Korea scientiest created embryos from a patients skin cell. If it doesn't happen here in America it WILL happen some where else so stop trying to stop the enevidebal your only delaying what will eventually happen.
Let's find real immortality right here on earth!!!

Man never has nor never will stop death, and all the medical advances made will not erase the greed that allows the poor to die, nor the violence that kills others.
Aslong as 2 men think they have the answer and see things differently and both believe their way of ruling is best there will be conflict.
So death will always be our way aslong as we think we are the solution to our problems.

How do you konw that new medical advances won't stop death??? Just wait untill we can heal our selfves at the nano (atomical level), when we have machines small enough to actively serach for and destroy antioxydents in our bodies. We know that it is possible, we see nanotechnology every day, every cell in your body is a nano machine, every virus is a nanomachine, every bacteria. It is there and once we figure out how to program in DNA we will be able to tell these cells (machines) excatly what to do. We can give them exact instruction to go to a spianl-cord and turn into never cells, or go to a heart and turn into cardio cells or to find and destryo cancer or viruses. At this rate it will take years, hundreds of years before we find these cures unless we start voting for people who will fund it with tax payer dollar$$$$
And as far as Greed and violence, your absolutely right man will never stop it, and clearly as we can see in today's world where %82 of the worlds population is Catholic, Jew, or Muslim religion has never and will never stop Greed or violence either. So whats your point??
Doesn't it make sense to invest in this technology wich will eventually stop death and aging? So you would rather take the risk of dying where there is the possiblity that there is no Heaven instead of finding immortality right here on earth??

No matter what you can fix it is impossible for man to change the nature of another man.
But realize this at the end of the day science is yet to understand why we die the human body just one day slows down and dies for no reasonable explanation. It is something unseen and therefore can not be treated.
You say you can not see God so therefore He must not be and yet we can not see sin in us in any medical test yet it exist and we die.
Religion will not end greed violence or death God will, we can slow down certain things by adhering to His word and through medical break throughs but we can not stomp it out.

This is absolutely not true. We have a very good understanding of the causes of aging and death. Much of it is preprogrammed into our cells. we just need to learn how to reverse it, if we can.
You say you can not see God so therefore He must not be and yet we can not see sin in us in any medical test yet it exist and we die.
You're assuming we die because of sin.

That is natural that is the way we were created and will be restored to that state again. God is not going to forsake the Earth He created it with a purpose and He created man with a purpose and His purpose will not be denied in the end.

Why can life have meaning only if it is unending?

Right now, science has provided us with a good explanation of the death process. Death fits well with evolutionary theory as well.
It may have been caused by sin, but there's no evidence for it. It is an extra assumption that must be explained.
Occam's Razor tells us (paraphrased) that when there are two or more explanations for something, the simpler one (one with fewer assumptions) is the better one.

Surely we can fix the nature of another man, doctors do it all the time.
And people don't just die, every death happens for an exact chemical reason, for example a cell dies when it stop dividing what happens in normal cells is that oxygen (freeradicals) atoms that are missing an electron are highly reactive and when they come into contact with DNA will bond with hydogren or carbon and destroy that little part of the DNA now our bodies have natural antioxydents but over time our body produces less of them and when enough of the DNA is destroyed that is when a cell stop dividing.
And your aguement on 'sins' is based upon the illogical foundation of faith which makes it totaly useless. Because a sin is by defention an act one perfroms which God considers to be WRONG however since there is no god all actions are neither right or wrong since there is no a God to tells us what is wrong, and they're is also no hell to punish us for 'sinning' once we die.

You must not have been around too many people who have been diagnosed with a termina illness if you don't understand this.
And, as atheist has pointed out, maybe we can progress to a point someday where we can make ourselves immortal.

Well If you can believe that God came from nothing that he just suddenly appeared where before was an empty viod. Then I can also believe that the universe came from nothing and the the universe appeared where before was an empty void. So the fact that I am here, right now!!! proves nothing about your mythology.

Did you run a full diagnostic test on your car before you started it and drove to work? Did you check all the lug nuts to make sure they were tight? Did you check all the other cars driving beside you at 70 MPH to ensure their wheels would not come off and they would careen into you and kill you? No, you did not. You exercised faith this very morning.
Granted, this is different than faith in God, or that Jesus is the Christ, but the principle is similar. When we take a step into the dark of unknown(s), then the place we just stepped is no longer dark, but is now lighted. Take a step into the dark and experiment.

Religion will not end greed violence or death God will, we can slow down certain things by adhering to His word and through medical break throughs but we can not stomp it out.
Again- you're assuming this is true.

That is natural that is the way we were created and will be restored to that state again. God is not going to forsake the Earth He created it with a purpose and He created man with a purpose and His purpose will not be denied in the end.

I see evidence of God, His existence, and His blessings every day.
Just because you have blinded yourself to Him, does not mean He is undetectable.

So what?

No- it just means everything we do is temporal.
Which means we make our own meaning- now.
We exist now, regardless of whether or not we'll cease to exist later.

See you people aren't capable of creating your own purpose, you need god to have created you and given you a purpose. I however am turely free I can choose what my life's purpose will be. If I decide to cure paralysis then that is what my purpose will be, I am not a slave to a fake God's will.
