God, Logical or Illogical

You say that there is nothing illogical about "God's" existence. Please define to the best of your ability God. Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omnipercipient. Having Omnivision including Omnividence, Omnividency. Most people define God as omnipotent, omnipresent, and all knowing. So lets really think deep about this.

If a being is all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere at once what is the purpose of this beings existence.

Wouldn't this existence be illogical?

If I know everything, then there is nothing for me to learn,

If I am everywhere, then there is nowhere for me to go,

and if I am all powerful then I cannot become any more powerful.

If I know all that has happened and all that will happen, then what in the heck is my purpose of existence other than to exist?

Secondly if I know all that has happened, and the past is infinite, and all that will happen, and the future is infinite, then I have an infinitely impossible amount of data to comprehend.

Granted I do not have quite the educational experience in philosophy to logically break this down, but if I am understanding this correctly Gods very existence would be pretty dull and meaningless.

If god does exist isnt it a paradox, because where did god come from? Not very good logic, it takes a leap of faith.

exactly what Richard Dawkins would say, Faith is the vice of all religions.

Also, if God were the quad-omni (all powerful, all knowing, all good and all perfect), God couldn't do anything, because if he could change his/her/its mind (or perform any action), there would be something "part" of God that wasn't there before, which would be a contradiction. I do have the philosophical background on this, and God is pretty dull and boring once you really think about it. Reason #342 for being an atheist. :P

Well Rhinoquolos, I must say that is the simplest most sensical argument against the existence of God I've ever heard, and I've studied the matter from both sides. I never thought about it that way but that makes perfect sense. I'm new to this forum and will be joining in more in the future, but as an ex-Christian who a while back has seen the error of his way, I find that even in my life now my subconscious thought processes are hounded by the preset notion that God exists, and it causes many problems in my life when it comes to decision-making and assertiveness. Keep up the good work of ridding the world of this false notion used by men for men to gain power over other men.

God is perfectly logical in the context of human society. We're an inquisitive bunch and when we don't have all the answers,we fill in the gaps with the supernatural(ie. God(s)). As far as accepting god to be real through logic, well, good luck with that. After reading through the majority of threads in this forum, with all the intelligent debate,it has always ended up with the god crowd having 'faith' or 'believing'.No evidence=Not logical.

I remember this. When I first realized that god was bullshit, I still felt like I was doing something very wrong. I knew that I wasn't wrong for finding out that god was a lie, but for some reason, I still couldn't stop thinking that I was going to be struck by lightning or something. Oh well...it passed eventually...just had to purify my system of 23 years of dogmatic brainwashing. It will pass for you too. Just give it time
