Hi, everyone. I've been gone a long time, but I'm back.:)

Anyway, I've been reading, and does anyone think Katia is a complete retard? I don't mean that insultingly, I'm asking because she doesn't use logic like the actually educated theists here.

Aside from that, I do need help. Senior year has rolled around for me, and my Religion teacher is THE dumbest man I have ever met. Not only because he's a priest, but he seriously has no sense of logic at all. If it makes people believe in god, he loves it, without thinking of it further (I know this is over half of the theist population, but I cannot describe how dumb he is). Quote: "People who say homosexuality is a gene are stupid because they just don't want to take responsibility for our own actions. If it were a gene, so would there be a gene for arson and murder." My friend has said that there actually is a predisposition that some people are naturally more inclined to murder than others. Truth?

Another quote: "Intelligent design should be taught in public schools because it's fact. Think about this. Do you know why a blue sky and green grass are appealing to us? Because god made us that way." So what about the other end of the spectrum, thundercunt? I'd prefer a hot pink sky and blue grass.

Almost finished with my rant, don't worry.:D

I'd like to restate (because I'm sure it's been said before on these forums) that ANYONE who is nice to get into heaven is a selfish, greedy, horrible individual. The path to hell is paved with good intentions, Christians.

Finally, I'd like to know if there's a simple way to disprove intelligent design. I remember seeing a post about it long ago, and I searched for it, but couldn't find it and I can;t remember what it said. If anyone could help, tha'd be oodles of fantasticness.

as to a gay gene...well there isn't one, but homosexuality shows itself structurally in the brain. I'm pretty sure it has alot to do with hormonal levels being screwed up because of stress during pregnancy. that explains the correlation between later children being gay since women having a child later in life (like their 40s or something) are less fit for it. The chances of having a child that is not 'normal' (in many different ways, like autism) increase with the age of the woman having the child....that being said there could be a gene mutation which causes pregnant women to produce hormones in inappropriate amounts at the wrong times but it lies with the woman, not the child.

if god doesn't want people to be gay, he shouldn't create the possibility for people to be attracted to the opposite sex....too bad we can't tell him off since he doesn't exist.

Indeed, it's quite hard to disprove ID, because the whole thing is so vaguely defined.
You should first ask what ID means. Never take the position that you assume that you know. The other side might have a very different idea of ID than what the 'official theory' proposes.
Always ask first what it means. Then ask what is design. Keep it up till you can get a clear definition, then apply it to show that something which obviously isn't designed in the usual meaning of the word would be considered a design by the definition. (Should works for the 'official ID theory' too.)
If the person actually comes up with the ID proposed by Dembsky and Behe, you'll find plenty of ammo to shoot the arguments down from talkorigins.org.
If they just refer to authority, saying things like, Behe is a biochemist, just point out that in the scientific community, there is no controversy. You can further ramp up by saying that surely Behe and the other 'scientist' must know that their arguments are false, ie. they are lying through their teeth.
