Corpse Flower Ready To Bloom

STORRS, Conn. (AP) Wait until the neighbors get a whiff of this. A giant exotic plant that has not bloomed in the Northeast in more than 60 years is ready to flower at the University of Connecticut's greenhouses.

The "corpse flower" has the odor of 3-day-old road kill, and UConn botanists couldn't be more excited.

Once open, the spiked, bright red bloom even resembles rotting meat, a veritable welcome mat for the insects that pollinate it -- flies and carrion beetles.

"It looks like something has died. It smells like something has died. It has some of the same chemicals that dead bodies produce," UConn research assistant Matthew Opel said Tuesday.

The corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) at UConn was planted 10 years ago and was part of a group of seeds brought to the United States from its native Sumatra by botanical explorer James Symon.

The mental illness of religion is simply neurological flatulence, to experience its smell one must wait till a person dies from catatonia schizophrenia ( could be a deep Christian believer who has developed full blown Christianity..:)).....then remove the Christ-psychosis Catatonia infected brain, place it on a box outside, preferably at a garden resting on a statue of the sacred heart ( for visual and olfatory impact). Let it decompose for three days ( symbolism to add to the effect). On the third day, wearing dark robes ( also for psychological aid to visual and olfatory senses), open the box, with the utmost respect and SMELL the Christ-psychotic infected brain.

Only then one could enjoy the TRUE unadulterated fragance of a RELIGOUS psychosis induced ultimate paresis. This fragrance will make the corpse flower smell like roses in a church...:)
