Why do you assume that any gods had anything to do with the evolution of plants?

Well it's pretty obvious how a theists would respond. Either it's one of the things that went bad with man's fall, or it's Satan's doing

Many things point out to entheogens to have help the hominid brain to evolve millions of years ago, but it had a dark side. Along this elixir to induce cognition/self awarenes triggering evolution came also religious-psychosis which is now a pandemic in this 21st Century!....:)

God is selfish and wants all the drugs to him/her self.

Kilik thanks for the reply. very informative i did not know the majority of that. This was basically just a post to poke at theists to why their gods would create bad things like baznap said.

This might sound weird, but here goes...
As an American, it annoys the hell out of me that the goverment dictates what kind of buzz that I can catch. It's OK to drink alcohol, which is some of the most nasty, brutal stuff around if you are addicted to it, but they say I can't catch a buzz on weed, opiates, cocaine, LSD, PCP, etc... because I'll somehow turn into a super-addict and my head will explode for even looking at the stuff.
The problem is this: I can't stand alchohol, never enjoyed the buzz, always felt like shit the day after. But I, like everyone else, still need to blow off some steam from time-to-time, so I reach for whatever is handy that I might like.
We need to admit to ourselves that generally speaking, people like to catch a buzz from time-to-time. I've seen reports (can dig up some links if requested) that plainly say that the vast majority of people that use any drug do so on a recreational basis only, and that the net effect is just that that person had a few hours of artificial joy.

Join the O Centro Espirita Beneficente Uniao do Vegetal (http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-02-21-court-tea_x.htm) Christian Spiritist sect in New Mexico; they get to drink hallucinogenic tea, even though it very clearly undermines federal anti-drug laws and demonstrates preferencial treatment for a particular religion.

Not to worry. The 'bird flu' virus would have to mutate in order to become easily transmitted between human beings, this mutation would then have to be beneficial enough to the virus population that these mutated viruses would duplicate and thrive. You'd have to be delusion to start believing a far-fetched theory like that!

Well, at least it seems this Christ-psychotic sect has kept the traditions of the past...after all, we all know that ALL religious texts and religious beliefs were inspired by Drug and not god........
