What are you reading?

What are you reading? Want proof the History you were taught in School was bullcrap? Read
Tragedy and Hope, Carroll Quigley
Quote:

1,359 pages of details about how the New World Order really works. A confession from one of the architects of the power elite and the structures they use to divide and conquer the planet.

Not exactly light bedtime reading, but at 1300+ pages it'll keep you slogging on well after midnight.

If you want the "lite" version, there's always
" None Dare Call it Conspiracy, Gary Allen
This is the counterpart to Quigley's tome. At just 197 pages, Gary Allen distills the machinations of the political, banking, and elite think tanks into the most concise book ever written about how it is possible for a small group of puppet masters to direct world events and control entire populations."

If you just want to stick to the criminals who are fucking you over financially, there's always the "City of London."
Enjoy! Don't forget to take your anti-depressants.

Just reading through the titles and synopses had me ready to jump out of the window to my death.

Last 3 books I read -

The Martian (2nd reading) - Andy Weir

Fantastic book, hence the 2nd reading. Can't wait for the movie.

Armada - Ernest Cline

Much like "Ready Player One", it's a brilliant concept with some great ideas spattered through it, but poorly executed.

The Fold - Peter Clines

Really good start and middle, but turns into disappointing shit right around the "3rd act" mark. Then right at the end introduces a few intriguing characters and set-ups that are never explained or explored, leaving you somewhat disappointed by the time you finish.

Color Climax no.29

Nice story lines but too much time is spent setting up the scenarios. Things get pretty hairy in the middle and the endings as usual are sudden and exciting. The creativity of writing is much improved on no.27 and 28 and introduces some interesting new adjectives. The black type on different brightly colored backgrounds can be off putting at times though.

Almost as depressing as the Holy Books, but a lot more fun!

Physics for Dummies. My oldest adopted daughter is taking AP Physics this year, and I'd like to be able to help her with it (or at least not sound stupid about it!)

Quote:

70.2 From Ten Realms to Three Thousand Realms

The Tien-tai sect set forth a world system of ten realms, of which the higher four are sagely, and the lower six are ordinary. They are:

The Buddha
Bodhisattva
Pratyeka-buddha (Those enlightened by conditions)
Sravaka (The Sound Hearer)
Heavenly beings
Asura (Flying Spirits)
Men
Animal
Preta (Hungry Ghost)
Beings in hell

These ten realms are mutually immanent and mutually inclusive, each one having the remaining nine realms in it. Thus, it makes up to 100 worlds in total.

Further, each of these worlds has ten different features, namely,

Form []
Nature []
Substance []
Force [O]
Action [@]
Cause []]
Condition / circumstance [t]
Effect [G]
Remuneration []
The ultimate state. [s]

These are the Ten Features of Thusness [QpO]. Taking these ten features in the 100 worlds, the Tien-tai sect developed the doctrine of 1,000 realms.

Moreover, each realm consists of three divisions of the worlds, namely,

The world of living beings - which is the self retribution of beings []
The world that the beings live in - which is the dependent retribution of beings [̳]
The world of the Five Skandhas (the Five Aggregates) - which are 'ingredients' to formulate the above two retributions.

Thus, there are 3,000 realms or worlds, constituting the whole of the manifested reality.
WOW! The theologues sure like to bamboozle us, eh. So which "realm" have you reached? Is there a Reader's Digest Condensed version for those who don't have lot of time to waste on Holy scribblings?

Physics is a tough road. You are going to have to also study calculus to keep up with her. Neither of these disciplines are for dummies. Not to disparage your efforts, BTW.

Alexa 08-26-2016 10:32 PM

I don't want to keep up with her, I just want to take an interest. Especially since unlike with the other two (who are more artistic like me) we don't have a whole lot in common. She's really interested in science, so I figured it'd be a good idea to take an interest in it to. Maybe help her study. No way would I be able to keep up with her. She's a lot smarter than I am.
