Hi everyone at RA.

Let's share some atheist poetry in this thread. You can share what you've written too. I'll start with the following one (which also happens to be my favorite) -

Sonnet For An Atheist

O, how free was I when I went my way,
Each dogma cast as grit beneath my tread!
And how the simple facts in order lay,
When rid of every falsehood in my head!
Atheist I am called for my worldview,
Denying lies which render theists blind,
Seeking the path toward all that is true,
With a stalwart heart and resolute mind.
But I have more than rejection of lies
And cowardly comfort of endless breath,
Which religious fools and liars devise
To dull away the sting of certain death.
Rich in the lavish lap of truth I live,
Possessing gifts that gods can never give.

the sun sees me
though its light doth blind me
i blindeth it not,
its heat may warm me,
wheras i cannot warmeth it,
oh sun so high i thank you for doing so much and asking for so little,
for without you it wouldeth be both cold and dark.

Actually, you're wrong.

See, if you start with "actually" then it almost seems as though what you say is in some way actual. However, it aint necessarily so. Look, I'll prove it: Actually, Jesus of Nazareth was a used Donkey salesman who started a scam that got out of hand. Actually, after getting anally violated by a gang of recalcitrant donkeys Jesus found the crucifiction to be quite a soothing experience. Actually, being buggered by an out of control golem is the main reason why Judas was always in a foul mood. Actually, golem buggery used to be a leading cause of hemorrhoids in jerusalem back in the day.

If you believe for a moment that idle flattery will get you anywhere with me, you are entirely correct. You have earned my sincere respect and indeed love. (In a non-anally-penetrating way) :heart:

What would lead you to believe that I would duck my head and hide, Lily cow? I post photos of me in bed with swarms of naked women. Did you think I was shy? If some of your crazed Christian friends decide to kill me some day, then so be it. I passionately embrace existence. While I have breath, I have song!

Appreciation of poetry is entirely subjective; as I am sure you will agree.

Here is a little ditty for you, loony cow:

Straight Dose

I’ll take mine undiluted;
No water, no ice,
No sweetener, no spice.
Give it to me straight.
It’s more easily computed,
Bitter and pure
As a prepaid whore.
A straight dose is better to follow,
Harder to stomach, but easier to swallow.

Praying Mantis

She kneels before the judgment chair,
Arms folded in reverent prayer,
In the heart of her saintly lair.

A pilgrim passes by in quest,
Is fast transfigured in her nest,
As lay against her loving breast.
