Excellent post, Demigod. Skribb, also keep in mind that the things we're told as children will stay with us through life as Truth, even if later proven wrong. It's just part of the trusting nature of a human child. This could explain some of it, especially if your Dad, in his role as authoritarian told you this as a truth.
