To the unsuspecting, it's possible that the above just seems to be theory. However, to some extent, although the precise extent is debatable, it has been verified by Fermilab who observed the creation of a matter/anti-matter particle pair in a vessel containing a vacuum which had been cooled to as close to zero kelvin as makes no odds.
Because a matter/anti-matter particle pair is created, it does not violate any of the physical laws of the universe.
