She has paper in front of her with the script on it, but she can't hold it because the lapel microphone picks up the rustling. And ipad would work, possibly, though I'm not entirely convinced giving her an item is the answer.
The problem with giving her something to hold is that she would more than likely then remain in the same position constantly holding the item, which while that would be a godsend for editing purposes (the movement of her hands makes some of the edits very noticeable), I worry that such a static pose would be "boring". Though the movement behind her plus the text/images on the side are meant to help counteract her static position, and if her hands are as much of a distraction as you say, I can probably re-frame her so the hands cannot be seen, or at least aren't as prominent.
I don't know, I guess it's one of those try and see things.
