In the "Should Science Speak To Faith?" thread, it seems that an impasse has been reached as to what constitutes valid evidence. There will be a new thread to discuss this question further, but I would like to know what Lily does consider evidence. I don't intend to debate whether or not it is valid - I'll leave that to ADT et. al.- I just want to see a brief case for Lily's faith, which she insists is neither blind nor illogical.

So how about it Lily? Care to give us a quick summary of the evidence so that we can a get a rough idea of the evidentiary foundation your faith rests upon?

Edit: grammar

Could omni-god make something so self-evident that even it couldn't not know it?

Even a non-omni god couldn't not recognize the self evidence of anything that it made. :D

Christians and other folks infected with delusional beliefs think and reason like schizophrenics or temporal lobe epileptics. Their morality is dictated by an invisible friend called Jesus.

I am stunned by this admission from you! Explain to me your god then. Um, please.

What are the odds on Lily saying something in that thread that she's never said before?

I confess I haven't been hanging on every word, but am I wrong to detect some goalpost shiftage?

With parameters now soaring into the whateverable, I'm inclined to agree with Lily. Rational intelligent people can believe in a God described by Christianity (whatever that is), so long as their intelligence and rationality are out taking a whiz.

Well, you couldn't recognize sarcasm when it hit you over the head (remember: Tuscaloosa mouth breather?) and that wasn't the least bit subtle. So I wouldn't be surprised if you missed the point of the discussion I was trying to have over in the science thread. Of course, the fact that it was hijacked early on could well have led to you missing some of the point(s).

Evidence, schmevidence.

You're forgetting the true purpose of religion: to believe in whatever crazy bullshit you want, no questions asked.

And that's why I'm a Viking.
