Tapetum Lucidum

This little bastard has been tom-catting around my backyard, trying to bang my juiceless (spayed) females:



I first learned about the tapetum lucidum in Dawkins' Ancestor's Tale. (Humans evolved from tarsiers, which lack the t.l.) Good stuff:

I was confused. I thought you said the picture was of a tarsier.

It looked like a cat to me, then your comment about "tom-catting" finally sunk in. D'oh!

By the way, I get the funky eye reflections every time I try to take a picture of my cats when it's darker.

That'd be cool if I had a tarsier in the backyard. But, as they don't have tapetums, I'd have to photograph em in the daytime.

I always wanted a tapetum myself. It would be nice to see in the dark.
