Reason Rally - is anyone going?

I've wanted to attend one of these atheist/secular conventions, but it either doesn't fit into my schedule, or is ridiculously expensive.

Then I noticed the Reason Rally in Washington DC, happening on March 24th, 2012.

It's free to attend (at the National Mall), and features some of the big names (Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, James Randi) and a slew of others. I've been meaning to visit one of my buddies, who lives in the DC area, and take in the sights (the only time I've been to the nation's capital was when I was a kid, so I don't remember squat) so I figured I would combine all of the above into one trip.

Is anyone interested? I would love to finally meet some of the regulars here, if at all possible.

That looks like the real deal. Lucky you if you can get there. I live on the far west coast of the UK so its not possible for me.

I might be available for that.

I am still in the process of organizing the travel portion (need to coordinate the actual dates with my buddy). Once I have the details, I will let you know, and see if we can meet up.

OK, I have booked my flight, coming in Thursday night (March 22nd) and leaving on Sunday afternoon (March 25th).

Come on, who among the Raving Atheists wants to go see Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Adam Savage, among many others, in the flesh?

Have you booked a hotel yet? I'm going to see about taking the 23rd off and I might as well stick around until Sunday morning too. I'm up with sharing a room with somebody if anybody is interested. I'm a good roomy, just ask Irreligious

Excellent roomy.

I'd room with you again if I could attend.

I'd like to, but won't have the vacation days nor money for it by then.
