Very often, the mouth and the brain don't know what it's saying.
I always find it humorous when the Daily Show or the Colbert Report digs up footage of a FauxNews talking head, completely contradicting themselves, sometimes in the span of a few days.

Went to vote, and there were seven other choices for prez/veep, plus a write-in.
Well.

I'm proud to say I didn't "throw away my vote" - I voted Green. Was even lucky enough to cadge an absentee ballot. Of course, I'm hoping desperately that Mr O wins because an outside party cannot. Christer that he is, Mr Holydrawers and his proposed V.P. Mr Tight Catlick seem so much worse. Are Greens religious? I didn't check. They didn't seem to be, and from what I saw, not nearly as bad as the other two.
What did Mark Twain say about it all? Something like, "If voting counted, they wouldn't let us do it."

We get used to the religious right in the states claiming every natural disaster as a sign that God is unhappy with the direction the country is heading. Now that all the pundits are saying that super storm Sandy helped Obama's cause, I wonder whether they'll take it as a sign that their God actually endorsed Obama in this election.

I reckon the Mormon Moron was a natural disaster beautifully dumped on the Rethuglicans.

I was merely making a comment/question /observation/query/opinion statement/empathetic nod in a direction/statement of fact er well there we go.

For president, I voted Green as well. I did it for a couple of reasons:
1. Jill Stein's views aligned with mine more closely than Obama (it wasn't by much, but significant enough for me).
2. I'm not real happy with some of Obama's policies, so it was a bit of a protest vote.
3. I live in Texas, which is so heavily Republican that I could have written in Mickey Mouse and had about the same expectation of my vote counting.

My idealistic view is that votes are not necessarily wasted by voting the way you want to vote. Votes are only wasted if you don't vote at all (or vote for fictional characters). Even if the vote doesn't actually elect someone, politicians (and even real people), do look at the results of votes, if they see an increasing amount of people voting for parties other than the Reps and Dems, then that will slowly help change things. One vote is insignificant, but significantly more powerful than no vote.

I think that maybe they missed the fact that Obama had already won the election, and were trying to drag out the suspense, not realizing that nobody gave a shit anymore which way the nation's flaccid penis voted.
