Grin hello!

I just wanted to say a quick hello. I recently gave up pretending there is a God and now I wanted to find some people out there with the same views that I have. I was raised Catholic and struggled with their belief system for many years until finally, after listening to the podcast Skeptics Guide to the Universe, I realized that no one is making me believe. So I decided to say out loud the things I've been thinking for years...that there is no God.
I hope to join in many engaging discussions with everyone here and not get the "you're going to hell" speech everytime I voice my opinion!

Welcome, scarzilla, to the sane world.

Warning: you may still get threats of hellfire, but only from the Jesus lovers.

Welcome aboard - just say whatever you want, nice n' loud.
I'll ask Lily to confirm that you're hell-bound, but I guess you won't give much of a shit!

Stop the Holy See men!

Well, I have never said such a thing yet to anyone and, so far, I haven't been tempted to.

In your passive-aggressive way, you say it all the time.

welcome to our humble forum, scar!

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.
H. L. Mencken
