Hello, I'm Alexa
Hello, I'm Alexa. I'm pretty much some religious people's idea of a nightmare. I'm an Married Lesbian Atheist Vegetarian with three adopted daughters. I was raised 'Christian' (I use the term loosely, because in my family Christianity was basically Christmas and Easter. Which wasn't bad. It wasn't until I started reading the bible that I realized how full of crap the whole religion is). I do have an interest in the mythology of it all (Supernatural is one of my favorite television shows).

Hello and Welcome! So nice to see new volunteers to help fend off the hordes of theologues. Did you bring any weapons?

Hello and welcome Alexa. Have you ever been in the same room as an Amazon Echo?

Yes, I've been in the same room as an Amazon Echo. We actually own one! We changed the wake word, because our adopted kids still call me Alexa, so it'd be super confusing. (For me, and the Echo). It's a bit weird when I go to other people's houses who own one though, and hear them say my name, only for them to be telling the machine. "Alexa, play some pop music"

Maybe they do want you to play some pop music.
My mom got one for herself last xmas, my nieces (12&14) had a lot of fun with it (OK we all did) but I couldn't help wondering what if your name was Alexa? Frankly I'm surprised that none of these various voice activated devices have never thought of using the obvious "Computer!" I mean, didn't anybody watch Star Trek?

Then there's the guy who uses the name "XBOX Sign Out". That made him lots of friends.

Yeah, we changed the wake word to Echo. Which is also a girl's name (at least if you've watched Dollhouse). They don't give you the option of computer or anything else other than Amazon (at least not yet) It'd be cool if you could name Echo yourself.
It's kind of funny though, since my wife's name is Kate, and our youngest adopted daughter is Katelynn. (We didn't name her. Or any of our adopted kids, we chose to adopt older because those are the kids who usually don't get adopted. Well, our youngest is only 9, but we also adopted her older sister who is 15.). So we kind of have two Kate's and two Alexa's.
With XBOX don't they have Cortana now? I don't own one, but I seem to remember someone talking about it (We have a PS4 and a WiiU.)

Hello Alexa, welcome. I too have a PS4 and a Wii-U but no XBox, but they are all for myself since my GF doesn't play video games too often and I have no kids.
