Books for Children on evolution

I think I struck out the other day. An intelligent ten year old, who lives in the UK but will return to the USA in three months, asked me to explain evolution and "what did Charles Darwin do?" I did my best but I don't think it was satisfactory. What I would like to start doing, as I have a clutch of nephews, nieces, around that age is start following up any discussion with a book which includes diagrams or pictures and a clearer narrative than I am able to offer.

Another neice, of around the same age, wants to read about "space and the start of the universe." The last thing I want to do is bore them and. although their parents are all supportive, they seem to have books on everything apart from evolution. They are already interested in fossils.

Any suggestions?

haven't read any of these books myself, but I did find a few on Amazon that might serve your purpose:

antix. Thank you. I will pursue these. They seem promising. I have already ordered:

1 "Charles Darwin and the Theory of Natural Selection (Solutions)"
Renee Skelton; Paperback; £1.70
Usually ships within 1-2 business days

which I think is out of print. However, I thought I might find some references to other possibilities. The Renee Skelton book is an ex library copy.

Many thanks. I appreciate your help.

Regards,

Broga

Try Evolve or Die. I was trying to find something for my six year old. i think if you wait too long then the infection spreads and takes hold.
Someone needs to write a book for very young Kids on Anti-theism that they can understand.

"If you can wait 2000 years for Mr Christ, I can wait 19 years for John Frum" High Preist :- Church of John Frum 1952

Barney. Many thanks. I will get that book and I agree with your comments about the infection spreading. The Renee Skelton book has been a success. I managed to get a second hand ex library copy. The excellent news is that the parents are now supplying the books as the child has become so interested.

My wife spotted some others on the back cover of the Renee Skelton book: Albert Einstein and the Theory of Relativity by Robert Cwiklik and Marie Curie and the Discovery of Radium. We are currently exploring this issue of providing accessible
books for children and, equally important, ensuring they get into the hands of parents and children.

Many thanks.
