You forgot gun nuts.

EDIT: And I'd combine "fuck-the-world planet rapers" with "retards in SUVs."

You also forgot racists and corporate executives.
Gun nuts?

Man, if I had gun nuts I would be blowing a load like every 30 seconds!

Obama? He says most of the right things, but most likely won’t be able to make the tire meet the road.
I am curious as to what this means. Do you think he won't be elected, or that he won't get any of his policies put in place (why would he be less able than any other candidate) or what?

Allow me to elaborate.

Firstly, being an idealist is hardly an asset in a snake pit like Washington DC. Obama seems like a nice guy, and certainly says most of the right things about the direction the US needs to go. However, a conniving and manipulating cunt like Hillary has a better chance of actually affecting pragmatic change among the power brokers behind the US government. I fear that Mr. Obama, while completely sincere in his intentions, would only spin his wheels in the muddy cesspool of US political reality.

Secondly, if you haven’t noticed it, the US government official spin masters have their lie machine in overdrive at the moment, attempting to disguise the full-blow recession which we have been in for a long time. They are barely keeping the lid on that boiling pot. Are you old enough to recall a president by the name of Jimmy Carter? He was this guy who inherited a recession. It didn’t go well for Mr. Carter. It is my fear that the next president will be Mr. Scapegoat, regardless of who wins the position.

Our lovely friend Mr. Bush has steered the good ship Amerika onto the rocks at full steam. The hull is cracked open, the water is pouring in, the ship is sinking, and the captain and his crew are all telling lies to the passengers as the water rises. The next captain to take the helm is going to have a lot of bailing to do.

Hee hee! The truth is, I toned it down quite a bit so as not to seem too radical.

I’m afraid I lost faith in the inclination of the US government to pursue liberty and justice a long time ago. It’s the inevitable consequence of having humans in charge of things. Our shallow veneer of abstract concepts such as compassion and understanding barely conceal the vicious little violent monkeys that we are deep down. The way I see things, if you aren't a misanthrope, you haven't been paying attention.

You can tattoo that on your sister’s ass.

I've been saying this since monkey boy got re-instated. I guess I'm pretty cynical too.

Words, the pledge is nothing but words.
ACTIONS are what matters. If you wish to bring justice, to be patriotic, to be a good citizen, it should not matter if you say the pledge of allegiance.

I rather give back to my community, follow the law, and express myself, than repeat a pledge and pretend i'm a good U.S.A resident.

I see that most of the mentally deficient population absolutely demands that all convictions and beliefs must be voiced in public before they are considered valid. Marriage, swearing-in, pledges, loyalty oaths, court testimony oaths, prayers, even contracts are all examples of this compulsion to "say it out loud else it cain't be trusted". The other side of this coin is that outright lies stated in one of these public modes are automatically trusted.

Even Jesus' command to pray in private in a closet is superseded by this policy of demanding public expression. It is not enough to be patriotic, to place one's life on the line for one's country, you also have to stand in front of some audience, place your hand reverently over your heart and exclaim your oral love of country.

I have been told that the first soldier in Washington's army executed for treason had signed a loyalty oath.

Can it be that the public would rather hear a lie like "under God" than the true character of the country? Guess so.

If fills a dual purpose. A bowing to the inherent magic of words and brain washing. If self awareness is a product of self talk then making you repeat things and memorize things would be an effective step towards indoctrination and thought reform.

convictions, beliefs and statements voiced in public serve a secular purpose: if something is stated in public, you will have witnesses to the event.
of course, don't care about beliefs....but anybody can understand the value of having them voiced in public, so we seculars can destroy such assertions later. also, we can know if anybody has changed their mind or lied when those statements are compared.

i say publicly stating stuff is useful. legally and socially.

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

Oh, crap. I hate Libertarians. Modern day fascists. Their ignorance is surpassed only by their ability to cover their own asses.

Revolution is not something fixed in ideology, nor is it something fashioned to a particular decade. It is a perpetual process imbedded in the human spirit--Abbie Hoffman.

How exactly do you equate libertarians with fascists and ignorance?
Also, do you really hate libertarians, or are you strongly opposed to their beliefs? Assuming libertarians believe their favored policies would improve society, why hate them for peacefully trying to bring about what they believe to be positive changes? Do you hate them because given the freedom to make decisions for yourself you think you'd screw up your own life big time? Maybe it's really yourself that you hate. Just putting that out there.

I read about it but still can't understand it. Certainly not fascist, but it attracts fascists. Definitely not socialist, yet it attracts socialists. The I'm all right jack fuck the rest chapter is obnoxious to me.
The presidential system is a good idea gone bad IMO & your best option now is partition of the USA.
Ah now I get it, Libertarians are for partition. Go Libertarian not.

But the personality over policy single leader thing needs to be addressed if we are moving towards a united world.

I find that Libertarians are almost wholly right wing fuckwads who wish only to enable corporations, screw the environment, deny civil rights (to everyone but themselves and their white buddies), have sex with their guns, and engage in the most self-centered politics imaginable. That ranks them with old-style brownshirts. If fact, most Libertarians I've met would have fit right in with 30s-era right wing extremists.

As for "positive change", only a fucking dumbass Libertarian would think for one fucking second that anything proposed by a witless Libertarian would be "positive".

Libertarians are pretty much a religion unto themselves. Fuck religion and fuck Libertarianism.
