It's Official: Raving Atheist turns into Raving Theist!
In news that is anything but surprising, the Raving Atheist (from whose bowels this forum originated) has professed his everlasting love for Jesus.
Slightly humorous note: the first comment comes from the One That Can't Be Named, who probably got all wet when she read his entry.
"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one."
George Bernard Shaw

I'm sure other people have also, but I've alerted PZ to the conversion, as he always got a kick out of what was going on there.

Hmm...full blown Christ-psychosis eh? figures.
Christians and other folks infected with delusional beliefs think and reason like schizophrenics or temporal lobe epileptics. Their morality is dictated by an invisible friend called Jesus.

Unless it is an elaborate, multi-year punking, no, it's not a joke.

What's interesting is that as an atheist he was willing to expose his position and arguments to rebuttal, but as a Christian he is only willing to give us a bolded list....no rational, no reasoning, no tale of the journey from Hell to Heaven.

Someone here once told me that he was pro-life (against choice) without really providing any convincing argument. I already then suspected that something was not quite right in his mind.

Ray Bradbury? Could you elaborate on this please?

This was before my time here, but my understanding is that he changed to being pro-life (anti-abortion, anti-choice, whatever), and that started the slow and gradual descent into Jeebus-land.

this can't be....it's got to be a joke....
One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.
H. L. Mencken

Why is this so shocking?
Didn't y'all see this coming from a mile away?
Aside from the fact that it gives some Christians on the Internet gloating privileges and a very fasle hope that all atheists are capable of a similar conversion, it's a non event.
Every day there's a former self-professed agnostic or atheist who, after some struggle, decides to become a Roman Catholic Christian, a Mormon, a born-again Christian, a Jehovah's Witness, a Sunni Muslim, a Rosicrucian, a Scientologist, a believer in psychic phenomena and so on.
Of course, the reverse is true, as well, in addition to Christians who become Muslims, Roman Catholics who become Jehovah's Witnesses and on and on and on.
Who knows why beyond the likely speculation that it brings them comfort.
Good luck to the Raving Theist.
"So many gods, so many creeds! So many paths that wind and wind, when just the art of being kind is all this sad world needs."
--Ella Wheeler Wilcox
