They can't get it through their thick skulls that we are not connected by a shared belief.

They're either too stupid or committed to their own perceived martyrdom to realize that the "a" in atheism is the only thing that connects us all as an ostensible group, and that the "a" in atheism refers to the state of being without a belief in gods.

We are connected by a shared incredulity or non-belief, which is the exact opposite of a belief.
