I carry a fine samurai sword on my back. The people at work were a bit edgy the first couple of months but now they trust me not to hack off their heads. Ignorance is bliss eh?

Maybe it's not your sword. Maybe it's your name...you know "Impaler."

Never have never will. I simply carry sketchbooks and pens/pencils with me (and books to read) - that's it.

True
And I do have a habit of keeping my keys in my fist, with them tucked between my fingers like a knuckle duster... not terribly terrifying though, I'm not exactly the scariest looking woman around.

That's just what you want us to believe; it's an illusion. Which makes you all the more scarier!

Sadly, switchblade's are illegal in the U.S. But none the less, I'd love to find one. As it stands, I now carry a multi~tool that includes a knife. Or sometimes I just carry a knife alone. It's better to have one and not need it, than to need one and not have it.
I'm also looking into a emergency tool for my keyring. It allows one to cut seat belts and break glass, in the event of an emergency. We've read far too many news reports here where people burned to death because they couldn't extract themselves from their mandatory seat belts. (Mandatory by law, or suffer the consequences).
