well, if it was up to me, this forum would be less misogynistic. also, maybe it is about fucking time some rules are enforced.

i can assure all that us mods would disagree among ourselves on many aspects of active moderation, but we always tend to err in favor of freedom of speech-even if that phrase does not really apply to this forum.
i love it, like pc does, how this topic is recurrent.
it will go away too just like all the other times.

and we can't please everybody. some people are just so demanding....

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

exactly what misogyny are you referring to?

Get it right, Dr Choobs. She doesn't think they should be allowed to vote hyperbolically. Sheesh.

How do you vote hyperbolically? Make a big spectacle of inserting the ballot?

You make a big show of saying you're gonna vote for the hunky black guy before actually voting for the geriatric conservative WASP.

He is referring to this rather recent post. http://ravingatheists.com/forum/show...&postcount=443

I won't bother to quote it because it would spoil your fun.

You can prepare for the Wurst in a number of different ways, but I think recieving the wurst will always be accompanied by a certain amount of hyperbole....

I love how people say this, yet never have a real example of it happening. (See also the first post in this thread, to which I responded asking for clarification but never received any.)
I can only remember one instance of a moderator's abuse of power, and it happened to involve me.

In this case, the moderator abused the position to get even with me, apparently in response to a heated disagreement in a controversial thread.

Otherwise, I would say the allegation of power-tipsiness is a little overstated.

Just to weigh in on the issues you guys are discussing, I don't have any major problems with how things are handled around here. Yes, I will disagree with a decision here and there, but you can't please everyone.

As far as the retroactive TFT threads, I would cry foul if old posts were being removed after the fact. Is this happening (I'm guessing no)?

That's what I figured.

We didn't have this TFT "option" before, so I don't see an issue with the originator of a thread retroactively asking for this upgrade.
