LOL....also interesting. It makes sense to me that there would evolutionary selection on domestic cats as there was on wolves---> dogs.

Take yer pick folks - this is either:-
  • Amazing - to think that birds will fly with a surrogate mother
  • The best video-shopping you'll ever see
  • They cut out where the lead bird got minced in the prop
  • None of the above

Stop the Holy See men!

I was at a primate sanctuary in Asscrack, TX a few weeks ago. There are hundreds of macaques running around free(ish), the descendants of monkeys brought over from Japan 40 years ago. Anyway they have specific warning calls to differentiate between rattlesnakes and bull snakes (and coyotes and bobcat), none of which exist in Japan.

Makes sense. Primates are all pretty smart, I figure. Big difference with humans is, we can imagine things we haven't seen. That's why we have planes and trains and automobiles. Humans who had never seen such things, imagined them. It's also why we have weird cults who eat wafers and imagine they're cannibalizing a Jewish guy. No orangutan would do that. But no orangutan would invent contraceptives or maccaroni and cheese either. Gotta take the good with the bad, I guess.

The macaques will never have warning calls for zombies or Martians. Or the most dangerous of all: heretics or infidels. Which is the higher life form? The human or the macaque?

Not there or doesn't care.
