Scientology is doing a noble thing in stripping idiots from their money. If only they had targeted Dick Cheney...
Dude...is not the fault of the brainwashed for what the brainwasher is doing...Some of this people are alone, old, or desperate and they entrust this church with their earnings, just to get screwed over?

Not everyone is "smart as atheist" and "uber awesome". To realize that a scam in church clothes is still a scam.

Give the scientologists some credit - at least it consists of members who got to choose their religion.

Christianity, I couldn't say the same.

Not true. Many people are born into scientology and brainwashed from a very early age.

Yes, I'm sure Tom Cruise's kid will stand a chance in hell of not being indoctrinated into Scientology.

That would be 30+ years ago.

It began sometime in the 50's, and I think it started growing in the 60's. So theoretically there could be thousands of 10-40 year olds having been born into the cult. Plus, since one of the main tenets in Scidiocy is that you cannot socialise with non-scilons, it is pretty probable that parents brainwash their children so that they can "keep" them in the family.

There is honestly such an ignorance about scientology. People need to be educated on how fucking stupid that religion and its leaders are.

I equate Scientology and Libertarianism. In both cases the gullible are led to join up by virtue of being relatively stupid, but believing that they are intelligent (and being told so by those impelling them to join).

Scientology proves the point that no matter how insane a religion is, as long as it has written texts that can be referred to and pointed to as infallible, then it has a good chance of spreading like a pandemic. Mormonism is another case in point on this sad fact. No matter how bizarre and twisted the tale, as long as IT IS WRITTEN, you will be able to gather fucking idiots and brainwashed shitheads to follow.

Revolution is not something fixed in ideology, nor is it something fashioned to a particular decade. It is a perpetual process imbedded in the human spirit--Abbie Hoffman.

what is it with you and Libertarianism? it encompasses a range of political philosophies, not always bundles with right-wing american conservatives.

I don't think it's for us Brits to understand Isilme. Maybe like an amalgamation of the BNP & Raving Loonie parties from what I can make out.

Loonies, yes. There has been, of course, an historical analog of the Libertarians. You folk in Europe knew them as the brownshirts. Fascism raises its very ugly fucking head from time to time in various guises. Just now, in the USA, it's the Libertarians. Fucking asswipes, every last one of them.

ok, but its unfair to group all of libertarianism into that group, when it encompasses a broad range of the political spectrum.
