According to this site, in Cleveland, women are forbidden from wearing patent leather shoes, for men can see the reflection of their underwear. I'd heard that this was a rule in many Catholic schools, once upon time, but I didn't know that entire cities followed suit.
What if they're wearing pants? Silly assumption that we HAVE to wear dresses.

These days, what grown woman under 70 wears patent leather pumps anyway? Clearly this is a law from long ago when women seldom wore pants in public and no female above the age of 12 would have been caught dead in patent leather, say around 1930.

archbishop warlock......is that from harry potter?

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

In Atlanta, it is illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or street lamp. True fact!

Speaking of which, are there any Ravers (or Jeetarded head bumpees) in or near Atlanta? I'll be going to that peachy town for the first time in a couple weeks ...
But can you tie a street lamp to a giraffe? Ahah! Loop hole!

I can tell you with experience this law is enforced, as no fucking bar in town serves pretzels (well, one of em does if you dish out 3 fucking bucks). Come-on! Gimme some damn pretzels already!
People in ND must get really bored talking to their imaginary friend all day. Somebody has way too much time on their hands.

Couldn't they just outlaw underwear so men couldn't see them?

Time to make the law or time to enforce it?
..............

You're right. Way too much time either way.
