That sounds like an interesting religion. Could you explain to us the tenets of this religion? What are the articles of faith?

And the articles of faith?...
Any system of thought can have tenets, but religion is different because of faith. Atheism/humanism/empiricism whichever "...ism" you choose here are qualitatively different because they lack faith; the defining quality of religious thought and the bedrock of religion.

Invisibility and nothingness look an awful lot alike.

I don't like it, I'll not believe in god as well as not be a secular humanist.

Secular Humanisms articles of faith : http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...-8&rlz=1I7TSNA

Its a religion. Even the U.S. Government states it as such. Its a secular religious FAITH....a faith that no one really has faith in . IE: Human Beings ultimately coming from a material only universe (dirt, rocks, and planets) . You and I dont have that much faith because its just too ludicrous.

Formerly Rebellious Christian Poster, atheism and secular humanism are not the same thing. Secular humanism is a "reason-based" system of ethics that eschews the supernatural and religious dogma.

Atheists are not required to be secular humanists. Nor are atheists required to adhere to any tenets recommended or practiced by secular humanists. Quite simply, atheists lack a belief in a god or gods. Why? Because they genuinely don't believe that gods exist, each for their own personal reasons. What individual atheists choose to do as a result of this lack of belief in a deity or deities is entirely up to the individual, as they are not bound by any shared tenets or common beliefs.

Furthermore, neither is atheism nor secular humanism a religion, faith-based belief system or theology. They are both the opposite of these things, which is why you resent them so much.

"So many gods, so many creeds! So many paths that wind and wind, when just the art of being kind is all this sad world needs."

Is theism a religion? If it is then it encompasses all theistic beliefs by your logic. So by your logic that all atheists must follow the one thing you found, I must assume that you follow Satanism (not the LaVey kind, but the kind where they actually believe that Satan is a god creature who was unfairly portrayed in the bible), also I found this Muslim theistic religion, it's theism and you're a theist, so you must also be Muslim. It doesn't stop there, there is this theistic religion that predates Christianity by several grand where they believed in Ra and many lesser gods, it's theistic and you're a theist, therefore you must follow that one too! And it goes on, so many theistic religions that you must belong to since you're a theist.

Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.
