Tax, Wealth & Christ-stain Hypocrisy

Us enlightened heathens have long understood that Christ-insanity is a fully legal front for raising huge sums of cash for an exploitative few, from a weak and gullible majority, as highlighted in this report on Nigeria’s millionaire pastors.

There’s little guessing needed to identify the biggest tax evader in Italy and of course, Merkins are encouraged to start their own church to take advantage of the copious tax benefits available to the saviours of our souls..... and don’t start me on televangelist’s wealth and the abundance of associated scandals.

I’m sure we’ve griped about the benefits of running a Christian business within these hallowed forum walls on many an occasion, but I’m buggered if I can find ‘em!

As is usual with gnu atheist attacks on theism’s privileged positions – it’s a slow process of chip, poke, prod to get laws changed and the playing field levelled. It really does get on my bollocks that it’s the poor folk who can least afford to give, that have built up the huge reserves of wonga that the liars for the lawd are quite happy to take.

It does make you see the cloud that religion can hide under , when pastors live in palaces built from the money of those who have little. Private jets, etc. Just shows you how desperate the people must be to hand over thir wages.

It's run exactly the same as a protection and extortion racquet. I'm sure if a law agency of some description was to do a profile on the better established religions, they would actually be better characterised as organised crime establishments.

Shirley, you don't mean to suggest that religion is about power and wealth, do you?

Filth peddling Tax Dodging SDA's

Antipodian Marmite is sold & produced by Sanitarium Health Food Company, who are owned by the sevenses daze adventists. They sell 25% of human budgie food to make it worse, & instead of being penilised for heinious crime, enjoy tax exempt status as certified religiots!
Robbing thieving parasitical slurry-spewing ewe-bothering water torturing...

Does this really still happen? Why aren't victims on the streets?

thank goodness he's on our side

That is indeed an interesting conundrum and it leaves me confused & conflicted.

I was under the impression that vegemite was the unchallenged delight of Antipodian gourmet breakfasts - and learning that the far superior, English origin marmite is making a strong challenge to vegemite's undeserving place of dominance is heart warming indeed.

The fact that its efforts are being part funded by the Bates Brigade of zombieism is somewhat disheartening. Still, I shall swallow my pride, don my complete hypocrite hat and wish them the best in helping our southern hemisphere friends to see the light of the real yeast.

I couldn't care less about the continent wide puking brought on by their gross chemicals, the question is why is there not constant gagging at this:

"In both Australia and New Zealand, the Sanitarium companies do not pay company tax, on their profits, something which is occasionally questioned."

Occasionally! Fucking Occasionally!

Sheesh, you amarmitists are so hateful!

But yes, the charitable tax dodge is indeed a complete load of bollocks - not just for the South Pacific yeastfest, but for any religious criminal organisation that seeks privilege to syphon profits from its business around tax laws that non-delusional folk have to respect. Big fucking loophole needs fixing methinks.

We're happy little Vegemites
As bright as bright can be.
We all enjoy our Vegemite
For breakfast, lunch, and tea.
Our mummies say we're growing stronger
Every single week,
Because we love our Vegemite
We all adore our Vegemite
It puts a rose in every cheek.

It's good to know my money is not contributing to superstition!

I hate that song - it should be taxed. Heavily.

The Hidden Wealth of the Catholic Church

Whoda thunk the bastions of moral behaviour would be doing naughty things with their euros.

Quote:
The Catholic Church in Germany, already struggling to cope with the sex abuse scandal, has been hit by revelations of theft, opaque accounting and extravagance. While the grassroots faithful are being forced to make cutbacks, some bishops enjoy the trappings of the church's considerable hidden wealth.

..... the church is not even required to pay taxes: no property tax, no corporate tax and no capital gains tax. Everything it does as a public corporation in Germany is considered charitable, benevolent and tax-exempt. Unlike other public corporations like universities, the church is not subject to any state supervision.
And I thought the Krauts were a bit tougher on thieving bastards. It appears they just don't give a shit.
