Question Do Atheists Ever Hope?

I have a question I was hoping the intelligent atheists in here could answer: Do you hope for anything, or is hope too much like faith? Do atheists have hope or not? And by hope, I mean do you look toward the future and wish for something better (or worse) to occur.

If anybody wants to engage this dolt, feel free.
If the majority want the fuckwit contained, just shout and we'll sweep up his shit.

I hope you don't crush him so badly that he bleeds into his own entrails.

I hope I can make it to work today. I'm getting ready to leave the house and I kind of have to shit, but I'm also kind of running late, so I'll shit when I get to work.

But I have an hour drive. I hope I make it.

I have no doubt that Egor's views are out there.

But this is also clearly a fake view intended to cause high emotional responses.

Is it even possible for an actual crazy christian to also be a poe?

And then there's this from the blog:
(emphasis mine)
Quote:
egor's blog wrote
"Is it a higher state of mind to believe what you see, or to see what you believe? What I mean is this: we typically believe what we see, but to believe what we don’t see, takes mental discipline; so doesn’t that make it a higher state of mind?

Our mind believes what we give it evidence to believe, but if we have the power to force our minds to believe what they ordinarily wouldn’t, isn’t that the greatest achievement of mind? Or perhaps we leave the state of mind altogether and enter the spiritual.

After all, how can the mind make itself believe what it ordinarily wouldn’t believe? The mind can’t control itself, can it? Yet isn't this exactly what faith is?

Doesn't that make faith a higher state of functioning than rationalism?"
Surely he must realise what he is writing, and just how silly this idea is. Anyway, have at it.

Though between these last few writings, I'm starting to wonder if we aren't dealing with Egor Allen Poe.

I saw this last entry in his forum. I was going to paste it in the galactically unaware thread.
