ID belongs in a social studies or humanities course, such as comparitive religion. Or the curriculum could include it under the topic of current events or modern hoaxes.

I say if people are going to teach IDiocy in schools at all they should just go for it. That way the students can compare it to legitimate science side by side and see for themselves just how stupid ID really is. It's better for students to be immunized to ID early on than to risk being infected a later point in their education.
