Some nuts actually want to hide evidence for evolution so they can stay nuts. It's not like atheists hide bibles because we don't want to believe in god.

In the effort to arrange it for all comers, I guess the fossils could be relegated to the "Reality Room", replete with a sign saying that above the entrance.

Religious people have been pulling the wool and outright lying for millenia, but this is in the category of fingers-in-the-ears "Lalala, I can't hear you!".

This incident seems to be the opposite of what I was talking about earlier: How christians make up urban legends to support their faith (in other words, they knowingly lie to themselves to strengthen their faith).

In this case, rather than lying to themselves, they are attempting to remove the truth of evolution from their worldview.

I'm going to have to say Cal seems pretty right when he's talking about "christ psychosis". The evidence stares them in the face, but their christ-psychotic brains are conditioned to ignore reality.

Tragic. If the museum in Kenya can't resolve this, I wonder if there's some way for the museum and the government of Kenya to sell these artifacts for display at another institution in a more hospitable country. Of course, the Kenyan economy would be hurt by this, but that would be their choice if the rational minds in Kenya refuse to stand up to these zealots.
