We do live in an imperfect country. That status is, and always has been a universal one, UK included.
Clearly, backward stories about princes and princesses come from those nations who actually have princes and princesses. Unless you missed that class in comparative government, that includes your country and excludes mine.
The people of the UK don't care about the inbred monarchs? They have a funny way of showing this disinterest with the yearly and massive appropriations of money to them - which means, collapsing into obscurity or not, your taxes go to support the Anglican church. That is not a situation that exists in this country. And let's not ignore the nitwits in the House of Lords and the privileged class they represent.
Europeans, UK included, have always had a superiority complex when it comes to Americans. Americans have always enjoyed being underestimated. The Japanese did. The Germans did several times. The Soviets did. The English apparently still do. Amazing how many in these nations, like you for instance, ignore what actually happened in history, in favor of some genetic myth.
People often latch onto a philosophy from which they can argue their genetic superiority, to their detriment.

Aww poor little North American with your inferiority complex, falling back on the one recent war you won (with help) lol (I would love to know when and where that war with the soviets was and maybe I could tell you about all those ones you lost?).
Underestimated lol
Seriously- there is so much wrong in your post I don't know where to start - maybe with the assumptions you make about me and my knowledge of real history? Maybe in the assumption that I am English? Maybe in the assumption that I have a superiority complex? Maybe your lack of knowledge of the state of politics and religion over here in Europe and the lack of knowledge of your own and others' history?
So much to educate- so little time- and such a small brain to give it to

The fairy tale stories of princes and princesses are based upon stories and myths that arise from societies that had princes and princesses. Had feudalism and monarchy never arisen, there would be no factual basis for these kind of backward stories. No one would know what people were talking about.

Don't disagree with you there. What I disagree with you about is where you implied that ALL stories about princes and pricesses come from such countries, because it helped you at the time to do so.
You shift your views as necessay for your argument. It's dishonest and very, very christian.
But whatever. At this point I think I am done with your brand of "humility" for a while.

Thank you for your continuing, involuntary attempt to misstate whatever I state.
If you want to address this phony point, I advise you to discuss it with someone who actually implied what you claim.

Oh, so now Francis says it's dishonest to attribute things it said as things it said.
But that was good, it's always funny to see when these theist idiots contradict themselves then try to squirm out of it.

To finish this thread, and despite the predicted and abundant denials, the behaviors I listed at the top indicate religion. Other than one item for one list, no atheist here listed behaviors which would encompass traditional religion and exclude the atheist faith I described.
I think it is a matter of self-image for them. They somehow think, I believe, that there is a kind of purity to their position. Another part is a reaction against a dogmatic childhood. This is at least true for some.
Whatever its basis, there remains a refusal to see that atheists along with persons of faith, will commit atrocities against our fellow beings.
There remains a refusal to recognize that social beings like humans, join groups of the like minded. Religions, like the atheist religion, are in that category of social organizations that claim the last word on essential matters of life and death and morality. That describes religion, notwithstanding the denials.
