fucking Catholic Misogynistic Bastards
So in Brazil a 9 year old girl pregnant with twins just had an abortion, and the Catholic Church is throwing a fit.
Quote:
But Marcio Miranda, a lawyer for the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife in northeastern Brazil, said the girl should have carried the twins to term and had a cesarean section.
"It's the law of God: Do not kill. We consider this murder," Miranda said in comments reported by O Globo.
|
But if the 80 pound girl carrying the twins had died as a result of not being able to get an abortion then that's just God's will.
The church's further reaction:
Quote:
"The law of God is higher than any human laws," he said. "When a human law — that is, a law enacted by human legislators — is against the law of God, that law has no value. The adults who approved, who carried out this abortion have incurred excommunication."

Well, in the church's defense, it was the lords will that this 9 year old girl be raped by her stepfather and impregnated with twins. God, after all, doesn't have a very good track record for caring for living children.
She should consider herself lucky that she wasn't smashed against a rock by a hoard of giggling preists.

Reading shit like this makes me so angry.
The worst part? Catholics all over the fucking world are trying to defend the church's decision. What do these cocksuckers have to do to make the average Catholic say "Hey, WTF?" Is there anything that would elicit that response? Anything?
Maybe if the clergy started molesting choir boys and the pope tried to cover it all up and downplay the prob...............................AHHHH FUCK!!!! I hate the fucking church!!
That is all.

God's law is only higher for members of that particular faith; it has no power over others so it is fine for the Church to excommunicate anyone it likes for any act it deems offensive to God. Living in a pluralistic society entails living by its rules. That is all that keeps homicidal religions from killing (e.g. stoning) whoever it sees fit, believer or not.
The Church is well within its rights to levy any punishment it wishes as long as it only applies to members and it does not exceed the secular rule of law.
In short, the Church can stew in its own juices.

I couldn't care less about who they excommunicate. It's the totally blatant lack of concern for the health and well being of a raped 9-year-old that has me all frothy.

As long as it doesn't go for stoning it's members, right? (Of course that's more the Muslim style of excommunication)
On a side note, is there any religion that is not misogynistic?

I'm sure there are some, just not any of the well-known ones.
Well, actually, what about Scientology? I don't know much about it beyond that you have to be batshit insane to believe it, but do they discriminate?

Hubbard believed that the most harmful 'engrams' occurred int he womb- he hated women - he thought the womb was 'wet uncomfortable and unprotected'. Look at the way Scientologist women are told to behave when they give birth

Alright, then back to my original statement: there probably are some religions that aren't misogynistic, just not any of the well-known ones.

now- somebody is going to come back at me with paganism- please read about paganism before you do- who started the modern paganism movements- the amount of times females are treated as a 'receptacle' rather than an equal - who is actually 'in charge' of these 'new age' pagans etc etc.

Nah. But judging by this forum, atheism is also rife with misogyny. Allegedly.
