Shit - I hadn't realised this Butt was a damn goalie! - but I laughed at reading of the 2004 fiasco against Schalke!
And he has only scored 32 times in his Bundesliga career!

In a hilarious situation, in 2003–04, after scoring a penalty in an away match against FC Schalke 04, on 17 April 2004, Butt was busy celebrating with his teammates and, as he went back into his goal he found the ball in the net. A Schalke player (Mike Hanke) shot the ball from the halfway line, after a quick kick-off

That would probably explain his fast run back to goal after yesterday's penalty kick.

Wow, some exciting action in the Champion's League today and yesterday.

Excellent scenario for me: Bayern through to the final 8, while Real Madrid gets knocked out by some frogs.

In other news, ManU did quite a number on AC Milan. It wasn't that long ago that ACM was a top team.

Arsenal & Man Utd both through - Chelsea up for it next Tuesday.
Anybody fancy a few shekels against the red-shite from Manchester?

As much as I would love for ManU to lose, I want to see the matchups before making any bets.

Kinda funny that y'all would be talking about Bayern and Fiorentina and the subject on this thread immediately before that was a send-up of Bayern's keeper, Butt. If you watch the Bayern-Fiorentina highlights, you will see that he totally flubbed Fiorentina's first goal.

I watched the whole game (in HD, nice!), and almost had a stroke about a dozen times.

Bayern did not look strong on defense yesterday, and that first goal was a combination of gaffes by both Van Buyten (weak attempt to tackle) and Butt (how do you let someone score from that angle?). At least Butt redeemed himself with the save on Gilardino.

Losing two defenders to injury in the last two weeks (especially Demichelis) probably doesn't help.

Van Buyten had a horrible game. He got outmuscled on Fiorentina's 3rd goal (some might argue it was a foul by the forward) and could have been called for two handballs in the box. That was easily his worst game for Bayern.

Oh well, they're through, which is what matters. I just hope they don't draw ManU, because they seem to be in form.

Speaking of highlights, how about that goal by Robben? Absolutely beautiful!

You may be called on to explain this to those that don't understand the beautiful game.

Excellent! I recorded the game at home, but I think I will only watch the 2nd half. Sounds like it was very entertaining.

I had a discussion a few weeks ago with one of my indoor teammates about CL, and he arrogantly announced that Bayern have no chance to make the semifinals. His bold prediction was ManU, Chelsea, Barcelona and Madrid, and was pretty smug about his "expertise". Wow, really, picking the 4 "top" teams is supposed to impress me?

Now that 2 of his teams are out (and an outside chance that a 3rd could follow), I will get to rub his nose in it.

And whoda thunk Liverpool & Fulham would overturn first-leg fuck-ups in the Europa League. Not I!
