Expelled- No Intelligence Allowed
The issue of Intelligent Design and Evolution had never been something I thought about much or found to be very relevant to me or my life. However, recently I have been directed to this new documentary by Ben Stein, maybe you have heard of it, it's called "Expelled- No Intelligence Allowed".
I was not aware of how militantly against Intelligent Design academic institutions were, or how they deliberately suppress it.
I was impressed by this documentary, but I am still unsure of how important this issue really is.
I found it kind of entertaining how at the end Ben Stein makes Richard Dawkins look a bit foolish, and catches him off guard.....all the christians out there must just love how Dawkins admits that he could possibly accept the ID theory postulated by Crick who discovered DNA that life on earth was created by aliens, but he would never accept god no matter what.

Just a noob getting a bit exited at thread starting.
First polite warning shot duly fired.
Power - do a bit of searching - this topic has been done, many moons ago.

The next time you take a dump have a gander in the bog before you flush. That's how important it is.

power, you sound too much like an undercover christain.
fyi, the scientific community is not againts intelligent design, as much as it makes fun of it.
if you like intelligent design, or find it not laughable, care to explain why?
One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

I can tell you I am definitely not a christian, but I do debate with christians and converse with them about their beliefs. I find it interesting and fun to do.
I would classify myself as agnostic, sort of on the fence between atheism and religion.
After viewing this documentary, I was much more open to the idea of Intelligent Design, I feel there may be a way for science to detect reason, purpose, and design in nature.

Thank you for the "Expelled Exposed" link, hopefully I'll find some useful info there I can use in debates with christians and Intelligent Design supporters.
But saying things like "how about having a cup of shut the fuck up"....well, I don't think that is very useful for a debate, and will not convince believers of anything.
