I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I am here to discuss Christianity as well as science and philosophy. I look forward to getting to know you better. My background is that of agnostic materialism, growing up in a secular household. I gave my life to the Lord last year, and He has changed my life big time..through Him I got away from addiction and depression, and now I experience joy and contentment in place of those things. Do you honestly, and I am using that in it's very literal sense, think you have something novel and new to tell us which will prompt a "discussion"? I suggest you lay it out immediately and precisely, because, being awash in "the holiday spirit", we don't have a lot of patience for buybullshit. See: Egor and *cough* Just the Truth. Because you have already admitted that you got jeebus to replace your addiction and depression, telling us that you are better now so we will be, too, if only we gave *cough* Him a chance is implicitly implying that we are also afflicted which such miseries, and that you have the one and only very special secret answer to all that's wrong with us. I'm here because this is an atheist forum which seems to welcome debate, and I am a Christian. If you don't like to talk about Christianity, then why not shut down your debate and religion forums? As far as a particular topic, I am not predisposed towards any. Feel free to venture one.

If you're here to further your understanding of your ideals by having them challenged by people who actually know what they're talking about, and are willing to adapt to that, you'll be fine.

If you're here to "convert" us dirty addiction riddled atheists with your Jesus truth-bombs and refuse to budge on the crap you spew, you're going to get ridiculed. Really harshly. There will be dog-poo.

This early, let's give him(?) benefit of the doubt. Even as crusty an old atheist as I am tends to capitalize those things out of habit.

It was not due to any special respect for Jesus or His Father, it was just one of the rules I was taught for writing.
