Remember when the rethuglican party was the "war mongers and hate the Russians" Cold Warrior people? Now they are hand in glove with them. Sickening.

Hey all, what do you guys think about the whole immigration thing? Should the US government just let everyone in who shows up?

I'll wager that large swathes of 'murrikans don't know the difference between migrants, asylum seekers and refugees - let alone the international laws covering them.
Stop the Holy See men!

Haha, I like how some people asking for a bit of humanity and not being monsters always gets straw manned by those against as "let everyone in." It's the same old hat dishonest tactic when talking about gun regulation.
Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.

But there are people who think we should just let everyone in and there are people who think we should ban all guns. They're a minority and those things aren't likely to happen, but those people do exist. I'm one of them depending on my mood, lol.
I was hoping people might respond in more detail?

I've been talking to a real dingleberry on Facebook recently who says other cultures have weaponized the West's guilt over past wrongdoings. He expressed fear that the West could get less white and that other backward cultures could take over. Also that you can't blame people for the past wrongdoing of their ancestors.
I think I should feel guilty. No, you can't say past genocide, slavery, and colonialism were my fault, but I do enjoy the lasting benefits of them.
He also used the phrase "virtue signaling," which I hate. Also, "leftist."

I'm American, America has done some bad shit. We should feel guilty for that.
The world is going to get less white, the west has been getting less white for a while. It's not something new, and there's nothing wrong with it.
It's stupid to blame any one person for something they didn't do. Though, you can certainly blame someone for being proud of or apologizing for an ancestor doing something terrible.
It's hilarious that a person would be against "virtue signalling" while virtue signalling.

It's a bit like inheriting a valuable painting that had been stolen from Jews during the Holocaust. Would you feel good about keeping it because it wasn't you who stole it?
I guess you can keep the painting, but don't act like it's rightfully yours. Or worse, that you have it because of your hard work. (The general "you," not you "you.")
But I guess people who think whites have some God-given right to this country don't really have much knowledge of history. In many cases, they're willfully ignorant.

I hate the phrase, "virtue signaling." "Hurdur, you're just saying that because you want to sound like a good person." Not sure that's a good argument against whatever it is they're saying.
The guy I was talking to claimed it was more of a label than an argument, but I kind of think there's an argument inside the label, if that makes any sense.

Yes but you can go back & back & back. Not talking about a holocaust painting specifically, (why do people capitalise that one BTW?). How did the previous owners acquire that property? Most land for example was long stolen before the present owners stole it. Does anyone really own anything fairly? Is that why the guilt stricken cristains thank god* for everything they possess?
thank goodness he's on our side

Mmm, I guess you're right that no one owns anything fairly. I often think we're just animals fighting over territory.
I think I capitalize "the Holocaust" because "holocaust" can be a general thing like, "World War III will result in nuclear holocaust." But when discussing the genocide of European Jews, it becomes a proper noun in my mind.
Another example is if I were discussing the moons of Jupiter I wouldn't capitalize "moon." But if I'm talking about earth's moon, I would write "the Moon."
