Lies scalpels & surgical tape

So I had to fill in a medical form, & it demanded; Religion:, I don't know about you, but that's slightly offensive. Frivolity in these situations though often welcome, should not be the choice of documenteers.
Scratching the usual `Jedi`felt a little childish this time, given the situation, & failing the invention to come up with anything better that didn't risk security being called, I left it at that.
Tell me to forget it, it's not important, or give something good to writ next time.

I'm curious as to why the request was made (pfft). While I realize that the western world expects some religious affiliation, what happens to you if you say "none", or "muslim"? I was hospitalized in 1996 for an intestinal blockage. I wasn't allowed to eat (even if I could) for weeks. I lost 30 pounds in three weeks. It was touch and go whether I was going to live, I found out later. Since I had filled out the paperwork years before that that I was a Catholic, the church sent by a nice lady with a cracker, without consideration for the fact that I wasn't medically able to consume said cracker. Since I haven't updated that religious preference, this could happen again. The sad fact is, I am concerned that if I now change my religious preference, my treatment may change. I would have to announce to the care staff that I do not believe as they do, at odds with what I recorded before. It may be well that you used "Jedi", instead of atheist, since they may just think you are mocking them, as opposed to being an "evil athiest (sic)"

Tell them you are a Rastafarian, and any last rites will require a hefty dose of medical marijuana.

I knew a guy when I was in the US Navy who had "Druid" stamped on his dog tags.

Yeh there was plenty room.. Maybe it was to do with dietary requirements? Oh! I don't actually have an actual religion at the moment, but if it's not too much trouble, I'm not all that keen on semolina in case you were thinking of giving me some.

If the pain is too much to bear then JW is always an option.

@dogpet, I appreciate your concern. Thankfully, I'm well south of what I consider The Big Three (Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.) I have a lot of respect for MSF. They were on the ground early on, risking their lives fighting that deadly outbreak while the W. H. O sat around w/thumb in ass.

Odd how Benny Hinn and his fellow miracle faith healers avoided the Ebola areas....

I write "No Religion" to every question about my religion, because if I wrote "Humanism", I would just confuse the whole issue.
