I don't know if you have been told, but the Raving Atheists, this year, will be reenacting the supposed crucifixion over the easter period.

We'd like you to play jebus, android to play the part of the penitent thief and egor to play the other person crucified the day that pretend jebus was supposedly crucified.

We'd like it to be as realistic as possible so we'll be using real nails. That way, the blood will be real as will be your screams of pain.

It will be interesting to see if your oh so precious lard will take pity and save your sorry asses.

We'll not be providing pain killers as this will reduce the realism and the blood-flow.

All proceeds will be in aid of all the people that have been wronged by the christard church which, I'm sure you'll agree, is a worthy cause.

Atheists are unlike christards. We believe in freedom of speech. You don't believe what we believe but we don't ban you - unlike christard forums which ban atheists. Learn that.

When I lived in the USA, a few years ago, virtually all around me believed in the lard and all the bollocks that surrounded he/she/it. That kind of an environment reinforces beliefs to the point where the stupidity of christardology becomes the norm. Not to believe is the exception. Fundies become commonplace.

Here in the UK, the reverse is true. Less than 15% of the population go to church. Fundies do exists but they are rare and are treated like village idiots.

In the town I live in, there are 7 churches. Four have been closed for years and been deconsecrated. One is now used by Buddhists. The other two are still used as churches but their respective congregations dwindle each year. Both churches scour the town for idiots that they can turn into new recruits but even that doesn't work. It won't be long before they too will close.

In spite of this decline, fundies are becoming more vocal and more active in our society in an attempt to infiltrate schools and public institutions in order to swell their declining numbers. The twats even want creationism taught alongside evolution in schools ffs - as though it were equal. People like me try and stop their attempts. To cause people to believe in the unprovable is a nonsense.

We therefore cannot place much faith in the writings of Tacitus, especially as there were no known earthquakes at the time jebus was supposedly crucified.

So, whether Ehrman is correct is a moot point.
