Pushpin PZ Myers @ the Raving Atheists Forum!

Dear Ravers!

Dr. PZ Myers has graciously agreed to an open, moderated chat with us to take place sometime next week.
We intend to have a format similar or equal than the one we had for Sam Harris last year, which was a tremendous sucess.

We want to have the members submit their questions here in this thread, but some can be presented at the moment the chat takes place, in similar form as last year. Also, we are open for any sugestions as to format, dates next week for it to take place and any comments so we can make this be a worthwhile experience for Dr. PZ and for us as well.

The questions can be presented by any member of the Forum, theists included and some form of preselection will be done by the mods. No stupid questions, please.

For those of you not familiar with Dr. PZ's blog, this is the link: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/

Dr. Myers is a professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota, Morris. He has one of the most highly read blogs on the internet. He is known as a staunch defender of science education, rabid anti-creationist and cephalopod lover. He also has a marvelous sense of humor. Richard Dawkins has quoted Dr. Myers in his books.

Let us all make of this a memorable evening. Submit your questions and/or sugestions and get a date set for this chat by next Thursday Sept. 13, at the latest.

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

Question for Dr. Myers

What Presidential Candidate, if any, do you favor for the 2008 election?

Dear Prof Meyers (sic),

If the recent discovery of DNA transfer between parasites and insects really "challenges the prevailing view of animal evolution, in which genetic information is passed exclusively from parents to offspring", then do the Creationists win?

Also: calamari or baby octopus?

Question:

What do you think of this post at Overcoming Bias -- implications for the War on Creationism? Methods to combat science-as-attire that don't involve the F-word?

All thanks to Awesome Eva for the wonderful idea!

For those of you that weren't around for the Sam Harris chat last year, this thread will be used to submit questions. The mods will submit the questions to PZ in the order in which they were received, as long as they're not retarded. We'll all meet up in the chat room while he's here to talk about masturbating as well.
