Russian Muslim Sect Kept Children Underground

The warning signs of psychosis were evident in the sect's leader 50 years ago, but that was in the 60s. However whether this was a bad acid trip or frank psychosis mis-identified as "divine inspiration" is a moot point. This is what can happen when religious ideals are left unchallenged.

"Mr Sattarov, 83, declared himself an Islamic prophet in the mid-1960s after interpreting sparks from a trolleybus cable as a divine light from God."

Invisibility and nothingness look an awful lot alike.
