I'm assuming assilem is a foreigner, so as an Englishman, I naturally said it twice, second time more slowly and louder.

Too bad you didn't save an image of it. Coulda been an internet funny:

I once did a simular doodle for a Spanish quiz. The word was (Can't remember it just now) one of those spear things they stick in a bull at a bullfight. I couldn't figure out a way to phrase it, so I drew a bull with a decorative spear stuck in his back and drew an arrow with the words "This thing". I got half a point for it.

Do you also say "nukular"?

What on earth are you complaining about?

The execution capital of America and birthplace of your Prez.Surely two things of which to be enormously proud?

I'm from Adelaide, a place few Merkins have ever even heard of,with the toughest gun laws in the world as of this week...a new "stop and search law" has been introduced, aimed at biker gangs.Civil Libertarians are having a collective nervous breakdown.

However, we do have a spiffy claim to fame;Adelaide is the bizarre murder capital of Australia.

Science is awesome, and I totally love it. But I was an atheist long before I was a biology nerd, and I don't necessarily think they have to go hand in hand.
Learning to think rationally and value rationality lead to science and atheism, which is why there is so much overlap. But you don't need to know the nitty-gritty to respect that the scientific method makes more sense than blind faith- that's common sense, and you don't need a PHD in nuclear physics to get that.

Agreed.

But sadly, as a general principle,"common sense " is an oxymoron.
