Anyway, I've recently felt the urge to discuss my views, as well as read about other's views. I'm a big fan of The Atheist Experience, in particular one of it's hosts, Matt Dillahunty. My main goal is to spread awareness of how atheism isn't innately evil, and to find common ground with theists.

This show is pretty much the reason I went from being strongly agnostic weakly theist type (i think that's an accurate description) to being all-out atheist skeptic.

Rock on. Welcome to the forums.

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

@orangeitis: That sounds like a great TV programme. Not available to me in the UK. Here we are starved of atheist comment on TV. The BBC rigidly censors atheists who have been trying for years to have a spot on its daily, and dire, radio programme Thought for the Day. It must be the most "unlistened to" programme on radio. Only believers, no matter how weird the belief, are allowed a voice. Ratzinger who did a slot was banal in the extreme but the BBC trailed him as if it was the Second Coming. All are welcome, any religion, just as long as there is no rationalist. They are terrified of encouraging the listeners to think about and question religion.

Anyway, welcome. Good to have you here.
